Today they bought Jaiku so it seems that Google is really focusing on the competition they get from Facebook and other social networking sites, and I look forward to see what Google will do with orkut and jaiku related to the amazing success that Facebook has achieved. Twitter and other social networking sites should definitively wath out for some hard competition.
