Very helpful post. Thank you! I hadn't even considered using Amazon Cloudfront - didn't realize you can use it with your current hosting company.

Hi Roger and thanks for stopping by!
I am sorry for the late respons (I've been on holiday).

I have a pretty limited use of the media library so the topic you raise has not been a problem for me. I just use the Media Library as is and with small volume. Regarding the W3 Total Cache, you could send en email to the guy that has made the plugin: http://twitter.com/w3edge

I am not sure but it could be that the only way to solve your problem (today) is to make your own scripts (or plugin) for copying/uploading files to Cloudfront (if there is no existing plugin that goes beyond the Media Library)

Hi Eyvind!

Great article on a subject more and more of us are concerned!
Still it seems no one talked about the fact that CDN in Wordpress only works with the WP Media Library.

Wordpress Media Library is really lacking of options to sort and organize images. If you have a lot of pics, there is no comparison with the traditional system using FTP and separate folders.
W3 Total Cache plugin has an option allowing re-import of images in Wordpress and automatic adjusting of posts/pages link code.

This is very nice except if you really preferred to keep your own way of organizing pics in separate folders.
Or is there a way to upload manually my static images?

Any help/feedback is much appreciated!

THANKS!
Roger

I think this blog post was probably a solid beginning to a potential series of blog posts about this topic. Most users act like they know what they are preaching about when it comes to this area and most of the time, hardly anyone actually get it. You seem to grasp it however, so I think you need to run with it. Thanks!

Hi Catherine!
Thanks for your mention!

It still takes a couple of seconds to load my site but that has to do with other factors (some of my plugins).
